Design needs to make an emotional connection with the character of materials and their use; layer by layer must be revealed in order to understand its effect and discover a new context. It was our aim to make the technical complexity in Silver invisible and reach the poetic plateau of perfection in seating. A chair which is only suitable for use in an office is not enough. Aesthetics without ethics is deception.

The Interstuhl synchronous mechanism makes it possible to precisely adjust the counter-pressure of the backrest to each user. The synchronous mechanism provides optimum support for the human body in every position. The restoring force of the synchronous movement can be individually adjusted to users and their weight. It also encourages users to change their position frequently and thereby promotes active and healthy sitting.

That doesn't just include a long service life – the ability to return products after use also plays an important role. After all, 98 % of the materials can be reused after the office chair has reached the end of its useful life. In addition, the Silver has received many environmental seals and certificates.
