SIMON BLAKE / LAUNCHLABS

The collection is like a good butler. You don't even notice that someone is there until you need them, and when you do, they have exactly what you need already to hand.
Simon Blake is an institution in design thinking; he designed many of today's common training methods and exercises. As such, it is no surprise that he designed furniture that supports design thinking and team work in the best possible way and has comprehensively tested this furniture in the field.

At the core of WHAT IF WE FLY is the following question: What do people need? For Blake, there was a clear answer: Furniture that keeps to the background but has everything you need for creative processes. And is always exactly where you need it.

What if we fly Designer

FRANK HESSELMANN / POOL22

The easier and more functional an item of furniture is, the more fun it is to use.
Designer Frank Hesselmann likes to question things. Which problem does the furniture need to solve? What does it need to do to achieve this? How does it need to be designed to actually function like this? Twenty years of experience in designing furniture and his training as a carpenter help him to find the right answers. In doing so, Hesselmann always keeps people in mind – not only the users, but also those who assemble the furniture. He calls this "assembly-friendly" furniture.

Hesselmann states his aims with the same pragmatism that informed his design of the collection: People should not hesitate to simply use the furniture.

The WHAT IF WE FLY products want to be seen and used as tools. They are always exactly where they are needed in exactly the right combination. Work surfaces at hip and hand height make use intuitive and convenient, the sturdy construction conveys reliability, the understated design does not command attention but still creates an atmosphere that is noticeably different from a regular office. What's more, all products of the collection are sustainably made in Germany.

What if we fly

Products

TEAMSHELF

The mobile, open shelf can be accessed from both sides and keeps all the materials you need for creative processes at hand. As a room divider, it creates quiet spaces without completely sealing off the area. The innovative hook-and-loop system combined with FLYCHART converts the TEAMSHELF into a mobile whiteboard.

TEAMDESK

Team work while standing is particularly dynamic. That is why the TEAM DESK is a standing desk at which up to five people can comfortably devise new ideas. It is mobile, just like all items of furniture in the collection, so that the room can be adapted to the specific requirements. It also features storage space that can be accessed from two sides.

Teamboard

The mobile team board can be extended to a surface area of nearly three square metres with the wipe-clean FLYCHARTS. The storage compartment between the front and back panel offers space for additional FLYCHARTS. The dimensions of the TEAMBOARD are perfectly matched to the TEAMDESK and the felt insert improves the room acoustics.

F TASKBOARD

The TASKBOARD F is just as sturdy and mobile as the whiteboard variant. The surface is covered with black felt, making it possible to attach a large number of FLYCHARTS that extend the available space beyond the board. When empty, the TASKBOARD F also improves the acoustics in the room.

TASKBOARD W

The mobile whiteboard is available in two sizes and, in addition to its large work surface, offers a visual separation that helps to prevent distractions to creative thinking. You can write on both sides of the TASKBOARD W.

Taskboard Wall W

Whiteboard, magnetic, with tray: The classic wall solution. Practical for rooms with less floor space.

Taskboard Wall F

As an acoustic element and felt wall for the write-on "FLYCHARTS", this TASKBOARD WALL F version fulfils not one but two functions.

High Table

Workshop, meeting, break: The HIGH TABLE is a mobile table for larger groups. And to make sure everything fits together, the dimensions are matched to the TASK BOARD and WALL TASK BOARD.

High-/Folding Table

One table more? Or less? The folding version of the HIGH TABLE is always ready for use when you need it. And when you don't, it stows away folded and takes up very little space.

SIT AND STAND BOX

The SIT AND STAND BOX delivers exactly what its name promises: It is a bench when lying on the floor and a lectern or writing desk when upright. It is very easy to tilt and convenient to move around on its castors.

GRANDSTAND 2

The GRANDSTAND elements with two steps are available in a straight and a tapered version. This allows the seat elements to be arranged in a wide variety of shapes and widths. With their width of just 90 cm, the elements can fit through nearly all door and even in most lifts. The interior of the elements can be used as a flexible storage space.

RAILING FOR GRANDSTAND

Get to the top, stay at the top: Of course we also offer a matching railing for the GRANDSTAND elements. We recommend using at least one pair depending on the size of the structure.

MONITOR ON WHEELS

The sturdy, mobile base for virtually all common monitor models makes it possibly to expand a room with digital elements without disturbing the overall atmosphere. Since all cables are neatly stowed, the monitor can be quickly moved to the best position or a different room.

Manufacturing

The WHAT IF WE FLY is the first to be manufactured in our high-tech wooden furniture production facility in southern Germany. This not only allows us to ensure the highest quality standards, but also matches our commitment to produce sustainably and as locally as possible. Thanks to our in-house production facilities, we can design and develop products efficiently and, where necessary, address customer requests with individual solutions.

Sustainability

We take responsibility

Like all Interstuhl products, WHAT IF WE FLY is consistently designed for durability. That doesn't just include a long service life – the ability to return products after use also plays an important role. This is because 98% of the materials can be reused, reprocessed and/or recycled after the collection has reached the end of its useful life based on the principle of a circular economy. In addition, WHAT IF WE FLY has received many environmental seals and certificates.
